چکیده

The aim of this study was to establish the stratigraphic extent a putative Tournaisian Stage within Carboniferous succession in Lublin Basin. oldest part succession, known as Huczwa Formation and comprising depositional sequences 1–4, investigated based on lithofacies analysis, sequence stratigraphy petrographic studies. article provides descriptions sequences, parasequences (cyclothems) that were formed range environments (elements architecture) result volcanic processes – lava pyroclastic eruptions chemical weathering their products. Correlation of the West European global chronostratigraphic divisions, well Khoriv suite Lviv-Volyn Basin adjacent Ukraine, indicates late age for sequence 1, Visean for 2–4. There is gap between 1 2, spanning probably uppermost lower middle Visean. upper represented by FRST-LST deposits mainly volcaniclastic conglomerates sandstones developed braided-river channels incised valleys with hyperconcentrated flow processes. These deposits are represented by polymictic paraconglomerate lithic/sublithic/subarkose arenites or sublithic wackes, and contain predominantly grains acidic alkaline igneous rocks. This material came from Łukow-Wisznice Elevation Volynian Polesia region, located NE E Lublin Basin. In rocks tuffs appear which developed during activity at least three cones volcanoes source lavas central SW areas basin, SE area, previously undescribed. 2-4 consist sediments deposited valleys. TST HST accumulated shallow ramp-type carbonate shelf, clayey shelf deltaic environments.

Depositional Environment and Sequence Stratigraphy of the Oligocene-Miocene Deposits North and East of Dehdasht, Izeh Zone, Zagros Basin, Iran

In this study, four well-exposed outcrops of the Asmari Fm in the southeastern part of the Izeh Zone of the Zagros Mountains were measured and sampled. In this region, the Asmari Fm is Oligocene to Early Miocene in age as determined by large benthic foraminifera. Based on depositional geometries, biogenic contents and lateral and vertical variations of facies, three depositional models are prop...

Facies, sedimentary environments and sequence stratigraphy of Cretaceous deposits in the northwest of Azerbaijan, Iran

The Cretaceous deposits in Morakan, located in the northeast of Khoy, a town in western Azerbaijan province, Iran, are primarily made up of carbonate rocks. These deposits, which are of 717 meters thick, lie on the clastic facies of Jurassic and are covered with beneath the pelagic beds of the Upper Cretaceous. To investigate the facies, sedimentary environment and sequential stratigraphy of th...

Depositional History and Sequence Stratigraphy of the Tirgan Formation (Barremian – Aptian) in the Zavin section, NE Iran

The Tirgan Formation (Barremian – Aptian) is exposed in the Kopet Dagh in northeast Iran. One stratigraphic section in Zavin was measured with a thickness of 110 meters. This Formation in section consists of three parts (including lower carbonate, limy shale – marl and upper carbonate rocks). Based on the study of 94 thin sections, 10 carbonate and 2 siliciclastic lithofacies have been identifi...
